Valio HYLA® Skimmed Milk Powder was one of the first low lactose skimmed milk powders on the market when introduced in early 1978. The lactose in Valio HYLA® Skimmed Milk Powder is hydrolysed to glucose and galactose. The lactose content is reduced from 52% in standard SMP to <10% in HYLA® SMP.
The sensory profile of Valio HYLA® Skimmed Milk Powder is a little sweeter than normal SMP and it is an ideal ingredient to replace skimmed milk powder in a variety of low lactose food applications.
