Valio promotes well-being at work

Valio's personnel well-being programme (Terveenä huomennakin) sets out to promote employees' well-being and consequently their job satisfaction, work motivation, and the ability to reinvigorate themselves in a changing environment.
In 2009 the objective was to foster open interaction in the work community, support supervisory work, and to promote individuals' health and well-being by encouraging and supporting staff in taking more exercise, in weight management, and in giving up smoking.

Valio has had a Well-being Manager since 2004 whose tasks include the development of activities fostering well-being at work and the administration of occupational health care. The Well-being Manager also selects the focal areas for the well-being of individuals, the work community and the work environment. The Manager's other duties include e.g. supervisors' coaching, guidance and support.
