Valio industrial ingredients are made in the heart of the Finnish countryside at Valio's Haapavesi, Joensuu, Lapinlahti and Seinäjoki plants. Applying over 30 years of demineralising experience, Valio manufactures its demineralised whey powders (DEMI) using modern and flexible technologies.
All the raw whey used to produce Valio DEMI products comes from Valio's own cheese production and more than 90% of the whey dry solids are processed into Valio DEMI items. These are exported to the company's food industry customers around the world. Valio is in fact one of the world's most significant producers of demineralised whey powders.
The company supplies top-quality butter to bakeries and the food industry in Finland and abroad. The main markets for Valio industrial butter are in the EU.
