| The European Dairy Association (EDA) gathers together the dairy industry organisations of 22 EU member states. It is responsible for issues related to trade policy, legislation and food safety, as well as matters of co-operation and the supervision of interests in nutrition policy.

| The operating environment of the European dairy business is constantly evolving. The role played by the EDA in representing the interests of the dairy business is becoming ever more significant in securing the industry's operating conditions. Assuring the position of milk and dairy products in Europe also requires increased lobbying on the part of the industry as a whole with regard to legislation, nutrition policy, and R&D policy.
