In 2005, Valio launched ProFeel® milk drink, the milk with the world's lowest energy content - 40% lower than fat free milk. Yet the healthy milk protein and protective nutrients found in ordinary milk are still there. In addition, Valio ProFeel® products utilise the fact that the calcium found in dairy products has a beneficial effect on energy metabolism.
Added fibre (polydextrose) in ProFeel® balances the rise in blood sugar after a meal and increases satiety.
Valio is engaged in research on the beneficial effects of nutrition and in particular milk components for weight management. The goal is to develop customised products that help manage the growing problem of overweight in society.
