Routine chemical and microbiological product analyses are conducted in the production plants, but R & D assists in special analytics and problem solving. The product details carried on Valio packages are based on the definitions of our Chemistry Laboratory, which also acts as the reference laboratory for product composition analyses.
The Laboratory's quality system is based on the SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard. The most significant chemical and microbiological methods have been accredited by the Finnish Accreditation Service (FINAS). Accreditation involves verifying the laboratory's competence and ensures its ability to produce nationally and internationally approved results. The Laboratory has reached agreement with FINAS on the use of the international ILAC MRA accreditation mark. The mark indicates that the accreditation is covered by the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).
