| Plant sterol has a cholesterol lowering effect |
The plant sterol added to Valio Evolus® Double Effect products lowers harmful LDL cholesterol and therefore lowers total cholesterol, but leaves the beneficial HDL cholesterol in place. Plant sterol binds cholesterol to reduce the absorption of cholesterol produced by the body and that obtained from food.

| Plant sterol has been shown in dozens of clinical studies to have a cholesterol lowering effect. Furthermore, the Finnish Medical Society Duodecim - a scientific body whose membership comprises almost 90% of Finnish doctors and medical students to total 19,000 - states in its Current Care guidelines that foods containing plant sterol as an addition to a healthy diet are a way in which to lower elevated cholesterol.

| The peptides help to control blood pressure |
The effect of peptides on blood pressure has been shown in several clinical studies conducted by Valio in co-operation with universities and independent health care organisations. In double-blind placebo-controlled studies, test subjects consumed either milk drink containing peptides or a placebo. All the studies show that the people who consumed milk drink containing peptides benefitted from a greater reduction in blood pressure than those in the control group.
